Huddersfield GiantsTommy Lee aims to spoil Warrington Wolves’ homecoming on Sunday at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Lee’s Huddersfield side travel to the Wolves hoping to gain momentum as the play offs approach. The 24-year old hopes the Wolves will have a massive cup hangover after they beat Leeds Rhinos at Wembley last weekend.

Lee said: “They are Challenge Cup winners and they are up there near the top of the league so we are happy to go and try spoil the party.

“It is important that we build some momentum going into the play offs, we can still miss out so it is obvious that it is important that we win the next two games and put in decent performances.

“We know that we can compete with all the top clubs and we have said that this week already so it will be a good test for us at the weekend to see how far we have come in the last couple of weeks, hopefully we will come away with the result.”

However Lee has also expressed concerns about the Giants’ current form. Their previous Super League game saw the Giants fall to cash-strapped Bradford Bulls 34-12. He says the Giants still need to perform to the best of their ability if they are to overcome the cup holders.

He said: “I think from the previous two weeks, play wasn’t as good as it should’ve been, so this week against a quality team we need to be on our game or the score line will go against us. If we are at anything less than our best then the two points won’t come.

“If we do all the things that we have practised during the week and do all the things that we say we are going to do then I’m sure we have got the squad that can compete and come away with the win.”
