Tommy Johnson stops with Crusaders

NORTH WALES CRUSADERS have retained the services of their record points scorer Tommy Johnson for the 2018 season.

Johnson, who is a long serving member of the Wrexham based side, became the first player to reach 1000 points for the club in 2017 and will now look to extend his impressive tally having agreed a new one-year deal.

On re-signing for 2018, Johnson said: “I’m happy to have re-signed, Crusaders is such a great club that it makes it hard to even think about going elsewhere.

“We have a great bunch of lads but also a great fan base that really make you feel like a family.

“We’re putting together a strong squad and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch next year.”

Crusaders’ head coach Mike Grady added: “It’s great to get Tommy secured for the 2018 season, he’s been at the club since day one and he was more than keen to extend his stay here.

“He’s up there with the best full-backs in League 1.

“He brings a wealth of experience to the side and is a great character to have around the place.

“I’m now looking forward to working with him once again in 2018.”
