Match winning winger Tom Lineham wants to make history and help Warrington Wolves win their first Super League crown.

The Wolves became the first team to book their place at Old Trafford with a thrilling 18-13 win at league leaders St Helens on Thursday night, and they will meet the winners of tonight’s other semi-final between Wigan and Castleford.

Lineham crossed for two tries, including the decisive one six minutes from time, to book the club’s fourth Grand Final appearance in seven years.

It is 63 years since Warrington were last champions and they are now 80 minutes away from that.

Lineham said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling, it was a great spectacle. The atmosphere was unbelievable.

“The game itself was end to end, lots of defining moments and to come out on top was really pleasing.

“It’s not about going to Old Trafford, it’s about winning at Old Trafford. That’s what it’s about.

“We have got to win. It’s not about the taking part.

“We as a club have got to win for the first time and make history, that’s what we’ve got to do.”

The Grand Final takes place at Old Trafford next Saturday, October 13.
