Wakefield Wildcats have confirmed that winger Tom Johnstone has inked a new three-year deal with the club.

The 19-year-old signed his first full-time contract with Trinity in June 2014, and should now stay at the club until the end of the 2018 season.

“We are really excited about having Tom here for the next three years,” said Wildcats coach James Webster.

“He is extremely athletic and we look forward to helping him develop into a regular first-team player.”

The player is currently gaining first grade experience, playing on dual registration with Featherstone Rovers.

Trinity chairman, Micheal Carter, is also pleased that the youngster has committed his future to the club.

“I am delighted that Tom has extended his contract for a further three years,” he said.

“He is a natural athlete and I believe he will become a quality player for this club.

“I look forward to seeing Tom score many tries for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.”
