Tom Bush makes Hunslet switch

Hunslet have signed former Leeds academy full-back Tom Bush from York on a one-year deal.

Bush, 22, has spent the past two years with the City Knights, and previously made four Super League appearances for the Rhinos, making a try-scoring debut against Harlequins in March 2010.

Hawks Director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “Tom’s been on my radar for a while now, he lives in Leeds, still has ambitions to be the best he can be, and having reviewed York’s last few games his form at the back end of this season has been for all to see.

“Tom was outstanding for the Knight’s ironically against the Hawks at the weekend and caused us all sorts of problems with his direct running and saved a couple of certain tries and he’s a great signing for 2013; he’s just the type of character were looking to attract to the club, he’s a model professional, has a great attitude and a top kid too.”

A part-time plumber, Bush can also cover on the wing and in the centres.
