Tom Burgess has trial with New York Giants

South Sydney and England prop Tom Burgess is undergoing a trial with the New York Giants NFL fanchise, it has emerged.

The 23-year-old intimated in May that he was tempted by American football, in the wake of Jarryd Hayne leaving Parramatta and signing for the San Francisco 49ers.

The Giants apparently hold weekly trials, and Burgess took part in one this week.

Tom’s brother, Sam Burgess, returned to the NRL from a spell in rugby union this autumn.
