Tom Briscoe will celebrate his testimonial this weekend as Leeds face Hull at Headingley Stadium.

The clash will see Briscoe celebrate two teams he’s played for in his professional career – his current in the Rhinos against his former club, Hull FC.

The England international was awarded a three month testimonial by the Rugby Football League. The winger prepares to enter his 15th Super League season in 2022.

Briscoe made his senior debut for Hull in 2008, before moving to Leeds in 2014. He has won two Challenge Cup, two Grand Finals and a League Leaders’ Shield. He was also named the Lance Todd trophy winner after scoring a Wembley hat-trick in 2015.

Leeds have defeated Wakefield, Featherstone and Bradford so far in pre-season. Their clash with Hull is their second last before Super League’s opening weekend – they also face Hunslet on Sunday, February 6.

Tom Briscoe preview weekend’s clash

He said: “It’s a big week for me personally but I think for the team as well. It’s our first big hit-out of the season and pre-season. We’re looking to put our best foot forward and put in a good performance and show everything we’ve been working on this pre-season.

“It’s going to be a big game for both teams. They’ll be coming to play and it’s our last big game before the season, so we want to put everything into practise now. It’s been a long time coming and really looking forward to it.

“It’s massive. Obviously you play for so long, but to have that support from the fans and everyone else from family and everyone, it’s been great to see that.

“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s always a big game against Hull. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere.”
