Todd Carney shrugs off visa cynics

Hull KR’s Todd Carney won’t be playing in Toronto after all – but it’s not because of visa issues.

Carney, 32, was believed to be one of the players that was apparently struggling to get a visa for the trip to Canada, which led to criticism of the trip from Neil Hudgell some weeks ago.

All those issues now appear to have been resolved, with help from the Wolfpack’s designated official, though Carney wasn’t named in Tim Sheens’ 19-man squad for the trip.

But a calf injury is keeping the Australian sidelined, and he tweeted a photo of his visa in response to cynics who claimed that was just a cover up story.

The controversial charater joined Rovers last month having previously played in Super League for Catalans and Salford.

His career in the NRL ended after the infamous urinating into his own mouth incident, while he was refused a visa to sign for Huddersfield back in 2008 due to a previous drink driving conviction.
