Tigers recall Marshall

Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter has recalled Benji Marshall after benching his star playmaker in last week’s defeat to South Sydney.

Marshall, 28, was dropped by Potter for the trip to Sydney and bottom-of-the-table Tigers eventually lost 54-10.

But Potter has reinstated the influential stand-off ahead of this week’s visit of North Queensland and Marshall has defended his coach’s decision.

He said: “There’s only one way to get out of a slump and that’s to play yourself out of it. You play well, everyone shuts up.”

Tigers host North Queensland on Friday night at the Leichhardt Oval.
