As expected, Danny Brough has agreed to stay with the Castleford Tigers for the 2007 season.

It was released earlier in the week on Last Tackle that Danny Brough would indeed be continuing on with his contract.

However, the Tigers have released the information to the press earlier than expected, with an announcement made on the club website on Wednesday morning.

Brough is raring to go and said: “At the end of the season I did ideally want to stay in Super League. As a player you always want to play at the top level. But I have really enjoyed my time at Cas and although I had other options I really wanted to stay. I am fully committed to helping the Club get back into Super League and I also think that with the squad that’s coming together we can stay in Super League once we get there. I am glad things are all settled and am already enjoying pre-season training.”

Tigers CEO Richard Wright, also had time to comment by saying: "“We have brought some quality players to the Club for next season and I know the fans will be very pleased with this news. The squad now has a balanced look about it and I think we have shown our determination to get back into Super League next year. Danny has attracted interest from elsewhere but he has been happy here and I think the quality of Terry and the squad we’ve put together has given him much confidence. He can now concentrate on having a good pre-season and he should be outstanding for us next year.”

Brough is expected to be given a huge cheer by the Cas faithful on Sunday November 3rd, when the new shirt will be announced, and the shirts given to the players to the 2007 season. The shirt unveiling begins at 11am on the Main pitch.
