Tigers clash a must win: Hornby

St George skipper Ben Hornby says the Dragons have to win Saturday’s clash with Wests Tigers to keep their NRL finals hopes alive.

The Dragons sit four places outside the top eight locked on points with four other chasing clubs.

The Tigers meanwhile occupy eighth spot and Hornby says the match at Allianz Stadium is a win-at-all-costs affair.

“We’ve spoken about winning this week and we have to win this,” Hornby told the Dragons’ official website.

“We’re not getting ahead of ourselves though as we need to execute better than we have and be a little bit more consistent.

“I’m a part of that, too, and my execution needs to be better and I thought we were heading down the right path but last weekend we still didn’t come up with the result.”

Under pressure five-eighth Jamie Soward has been named on an extended bench after being dropped for the Roosters clash but coach Steve Price is keeping his playmaking options close to his chest.

“Steve is going to weigh up what he wants to do this week and we’ll find out later in the week,” said Hornby.

“I’ve played with Nathan [Fien] though two out of the past three weeks but like I’ve said before it comes down to execution.”
