Tickets on sale for Danny Jones celebration game
Tickets are now on sale for the Danny Jones Celebration Game between a Halifax Select 12 and a Rest of the World side on October 11.
They are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and concessions, with all money going to the Danny Jones Fund.
The game takes place at the Shay Stadium in Halifax, the day after the Super League Grand Final.
The Halifax RLFC Board of Directors said: “The Halifax Club was always going to play its part in supporting his family, but we took time to work out the format for the day which could excite the most interest, and we believe that we have found it.”
This October, countless well-known members of the Rugby League family will run out on to the Shay pitch, to be a part of the most significant charity game the Stadium has ever seen. ALL proceeds from the day will go directly to the Danny Jones Fund, to support his family at such a difficult time.
To celebrate the launch of the event, Lizzie Jones, and twins Phoebe & Bobby will lead the teams out at Halifax’s next home game against Salford on Saturday 5th September.

Wembley winner and all-round Halifax legend, Mick Scott will coach the Halifax select 13’s, and Robbie Hunter Paul will be captaining the World side. Liam Finn, Bobby Goulding, Lee Paterson, Bob Beswick and Mark Calderwood are some of the names taking to the stage on Sunday 11th October, where the teams will take part in a four-part game of non-contact Rugby.
The Club have chosen non-contact specifically so that Rugby League celebrities far and wide can take part, and the game will not impact on that player’s current club; be it Super League or any other competition.
This decision has created a unique opportunity, where you can play a professional game of Rugby League where your heroes are passing to you!
That’s right, for just £5 you can buy a raffle ticket for the draw, where 4 names will be pulled out of the hat and in to the squads. Even better, you get to pick which team you play in!
