Ticket prices slashed as Championship relegation battle heats up

Oldham have slashed ticket prices ahead of their crucial game against Toulouse on Sunday in the battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.

The Roughyeds beat local rivals Rochdale at the weekend, only to see Swinton pick up a win at Dewsbury, which now means just one point separates the three sides.

Runaway Championship Shield leaders Toulouse, who only missed out on a place in The Qualifiers in the very last round of the regular season, are the next visitors to Bower Fold.

Ticket prices have been reduced to £5 for adults and free for under 16s, as long as they fill in an information sheet that will be available outside the ground or can be downloaded from roughyeds.co.uk

Oldham chairman Chris Hamilton said: “It’s a massive game for us and we’d like as many people as possible to get behind the lads, who are fighting like fury to stay up.

“They’ve shown terrific courage and desire to draw at Batley and win at Rochdale in their last two games and I think everyone will agree that they deserve solid support when they’re back on home soil to face a French side that has already clinched top spot in the Shield.

“The club is taking a financial hit to try to get more people to Bower Fold and we hope rugby league fans and sports lovers across the borough will take advantage of the discounts.

“We need fans to be our 18th man on Sunday.”

Season-ticket holders attending the game will be entered in a draw to win a signed replica jersey.
