Throwback Thursday: The original American dream starring Wigan and Warrington

The American dream appears to be on the horizon again, but Super League is no stranger to the States.

Wigan didn’t just play in USA – they played in Milwaukee, in America’s mid-west.

A crowd of nearly 18,000 watched the match at a baseball stadium, as a star-studded Wigan side beat Warrington 12-5. It was a friendly in name, but not in nature, and there were few attacking chances on a narrow pitch.

Check out the video below, including some cracking American commentary.

The two sides will remember the Milwaukee exhibition with special edition shirts that will be worn at this year’s Magic Weekend at Anfield on Saturday.
