Three Super League players suspended

Three players have been suspended by an independent disciplinary tribunal, after being found guilty of offences committed during Super League Round 16 fixtures played at Magic Weekend on May 30 and 31.

Josh Griffin of Salford Red Devils has been suspended for one match for punching Widnes Vikings player Willie Isa.

The independent tribunal downgraded the charge from Grade C to Grade B. Griffin, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £300.

Joel Moon of Leeds Rhinos was also banned for one match for making dangerous contact on Wigan Warriors winger Josh Charnley.

The charge was downgraded from C to B. Moon, who pleaded guilty, was fined £300.

Huddersfield player Scott Grix was banned for one match for Grade B striking with the shoulder on Morgan Escare in the same fixture. Grix, who pleaded guilty, was also fined £300.

All three were suspended after appearing before an independent disciplinary tribunal, which also cleared two players of offences in the Huddersfield Giants v Catalans Dragons fixure.

The two players were: Remi Casty of Catalans (Grade C dangerous throw) and Aaron Murphy of Huddersfield (Grade C striking with the shoulder), who were both found not guilty.
