Thorman demands Knights turn possession into points

York City Knights player/coach Chris Thorman is demanding an improvement from his side after losing to Swinton on Sunday.

Thorman’s side lost 32-12 at the Leigh Sports Village, and the former Huddersfield and Hull FC stand off knows his side must take advantage of excessive field possession, something York failed to do on Sunday.

He said: “We had 51 play the balls in their half in the second half. They only had 16.

“For me, that means we need to start taking opportunities. We created them, but that final pass or kick let us down.”

York must overcome a Sheffield side that has lost two consecutive Championship league games against Keighley and Leigh either side of a trip to Catalan in the Challenge Cup.
