Wakefield Wildcats are pleased to announce that three of their junior players have been selected to represent their country at international level.

The three youngsters are Matty Wildie, Billy Harris and Adam Milner, two of which are part of Wakefield’s Scholarship programme.

Matty Wildie who has recently signed professionally for the Wildcats and is now part of the Academy set-up, will play at U’16 level in England’s game against France, whilst Harris and Milner who are part of the Scholarship programme will represent England’s U’15 when they take on Wales.

Player Performance Manager Pete Riding said of their achievements “I’m extremely proud of all three players, they have the ability to have great futures in the game and they have worked extremely hard to get called up”

“They now have the chance to show their ability for their country and as a player there is no bigger honour. Hopefully, this will be the start of things to come and it is testament to not only the hard work that the players have put in but to the hard work that everyone involved with the Wildcats Scholarship programme has put in”

“Matty Wildie is an exceptionally talented back, who has already signed professionally for the Wildcats. Having being selected for England last year, it shows the consistency that Matty plays with to gain selection for the second consecutive year”

Billy Harris and Adam Milner have both been part of Wakefield Wildcats’ Scholarship programme since they were 12 years old, which highlights the hard work that we are doing off the field to bring these youngsters along”

Matty Wildie is progressing well at Belle Vue and is extremely pleased with how is time at the Wildcats is developing “I’m really happy with how things are going, I’m just trying to do the little things right and hopefully I can keep progressing all the time”

“I’m really happy at being selected for England again; I just want to keep working hard and hopefully I can push for a place in Wakefield’s first team within the next couple of years”
