Tetley’s to sponsor Championship newboys

New Championship 1 club Northampton Rebels has announced a sponsorship deal with Tetley’s beer.

Tetley’s, part of Carlsberg UK’s range of beers, have agreed a partnership to have their logo on the sleeves of the Rebels shirts initially for the first two seasons.

“It was important to us that the first sponsorship announcement was with a major national brand,” said the Rebels Commercial Manager Andy Wooldridge.

“The fact that we will have the Tetley’s logo on the sleeves of our shirts underlines the progress we are making and the willingness of such a sponsor to get involved is a major boost.

“There are a number of shirt sponsorship opportunities available on the Rebels shirts and we are already delighted with the level of interest shown in supporting the Rebels.”

Mark Wellings of Carlsberg UK who worked with the club to negotiate the sponsorship deal said: “At over 200 years old, Tetley’s beer is a firm favourite with British ale drinkers – it’s known across the UK and is one of the best selling ales in the UK. We’re delighted to be supporting our home town’s rugby league club, and I look forward to raising a pint of Tetley’s in celebration of their success!”
