Ten players have been charged following the fiery Championship 1 encounter between Rochdale and South Wales on Sunday.

The game erupted after the half time whistle, when Rochdale’s Gary Middlehurst and Phil Braddish saw red, together with Scorpions pair Luke Kell and Nathan Mossop, for their part in an all-in brawl.

The two Rochdale players, together with team-mate Chris Hough, were charged with Grade C fighting offences, while fellow Hornets Steve Bannister and Dayne Donoghue were charged with Grade B offences.

Dom Crosby, who plays for South Wales on a dual-registration contract from Wigan, saw red for a head-butt in the second half, and he has also been charged with a Grade B offence, the same punishment afforded to Kell and Mossop.

Scorpions’ sub Jason Howells has been charged with a Grade C offence for entering the field of play, and team-mate Joe Bullock completes the 10, charged with a Grade A fighting offence.

All players have until Tuesday to submit an early guilty plea.

Middlehurst was handed a six match ban earlier this season, reduced on appeal, following a red card against North Wales Crusaders earlier this season.
