Team news: Warrington v Catalans (Sat)

James Messenger

Josh Thewlis

Josh Thewlis is in line for his Warrington debut this weekend, while Catalans are without a trio of first-team stars.

Steve Price has made two alterations to his 19-man squad following their Challenge Cup victory over Hull KR. Tom Lineham and Jake Mamo were both suspended following that game so are replaced by Jack Johnson and Academy graduate Thewlis, who has been handed the number 31 shirt.

Steve McNamara has made three enforced changes following last week’s heavy defeat to Hull FC. Brayden Williame, Lewis Tierney and captain Remi Casty are all ruled out through injury, so are replaced in the 19-man squad by Benjamin Jullien, Arthur Romano and Lambert Belmas.

Messenger’s money-maker: Can the Wolves and Dragons replicate the scoring prowess showed when they faced off in March? Both teams to score 20 or more points is priced at 2/1.

Warrington’s 19-man squad: Sitaleki Akauola, Blake Austin, Josh Charnley, Daryl Clark, Jason Clark, Mike Cooper, Ben Currie, Matt Davis, Bryson Goodwin, Chris Hill, Jack Hughes, Jack Johnson, Toby King, Harvey Livett, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Declan Patton, Joe Philbin, Josh Thewlis, Danny Walker.

Catalans’ 19-man squad: Tony Gigot, David Mead, Samisoni Langi, Matty Smith, Micky McIlorum, Sam Moa, Kenny Edwards, Ben Garcia, Julian Bousquet, Mickael Simon, Benjamin Jullien, Matt Whitley, Alrix Da Costa, Lambert Belmas, Jason Baitieri, Arthur Romano, Fouad Yaha, Sam Kasiano, Sam Tomkins.

Warrington are 2/7 favourites to open up a six-point gap over third, while the Dragons are priced at 3/1 to claim victory.
