Team news: St Helens v Wigan (Fri)

Sam Powell is a surprise inclusion in Wigan’s squad to face St Helens on Friday.

Wigan coach Adrian Lam has made just one change to his side that beat Salford last week. Prop Ollie Partington has served his one-match suspension and replaces centre Dan Sarginson.

Hooker Powell suffered a suspected fractured wrist in the win over the Red Devils and Lam thought it was going to be a long-term injury – but he has been named Powell in the squad for Friday’s derby.

Justin Holbrook has also made just one change to his St Helens outfit that won at Leeds two weeks ago. Hooker Aaron Smith comes in for centre Matty Costello.

The televised Super League semi-final takes place at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday night, 7:45pm kick-off.

Drew’s dabble: Oliver Gildart is 16/1 to score the game’s first try.

St Helens 19-man squad: Jonny Lomax, Tommy Makinson, Kevin Naiqama, Mark Percival, Regan Grace, Theo Fages, Alex Walmsley, James Roby, Luke Thompson, Zeb Taia, Joseph Paulo, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Morgan Knowles, Kyle Amor, Dom Peyroux, Jack Ashworth, Aaron Smith, James Bentley, Lachlan Coote.

Wigan 19-man squad: Joe Burgess, Liam Byrne, Tony Clubb, Liam Farrell, Ben Flower, Bevan French, Oliver Gildart, Joe Greenwood, Chris Hankinson, Zak Hardaker, Willie Isa, Tommy Leuluai, Liam Marshall, Romain Navarrete, Sean O’Loughlin, Ollie Partington, Sam Powell, Morgan Smithies, George Williams.

St Helens are clear favourites at 2/5, while Wigan’s odds to come away with the win are 9/4.
