Team news: Castleford v Wakefield (Thurs)

James Gordon

Injury-hit Wakefield are set to hand a debut to half-back Ben Reynolds in their derby clash at Castleford on Thursday.

Reynolds, 25, signed from Leigh in the off-season and has been playing for Featherstone in the Championship on loan.

Regular half-back duo Danny Brough and Jacob Miller are sidelined following injury in last week’s win over Wigan, as is prop Anthony England.

Kyle Wood and Reece Lyne have both been named in Chris Chester’s 19-man squad having gone off injured in the same game.

Prop Chris Annakin is included too having been recalled from a loan spell at Dewsbury.

New signing Mason Caton-Brown was announced following the publication of the initial 18-man squad and has been added to the squad.

Matt Cook, Tuoyo Egodo and Grant Millington all drop out of the Castleford squad following their defeat at Huddersfield.

Nathan Massey returns from injury along with Will Maher, while Cory Aston has been recalled from his loan at Newcastle.

Gordon’s gamble: With Wakefield’s injury struggles, the handicap tie (-10 Castleford) may be worth a look at 20/1.

Castleford 19-man squad: Aston, Clare, Clark, Eden, Holmes, Maher, Massey, Mata’utia, McMeeken, Milner, Minikin, Moors, O’Neill, Sene-Lefao, Shenton, Smith, Trueman, Turner, Watts.

Wakefield 19-man squad: Annakin, Arona, Arundel, Ashurst, Caton-Brown, Crowther, Fifita, Hampshire, Hirst, Horo, Jones-Bishop, Jowitt, King, Kirmond, Kopczak, Lyne, Pauli, Reynolds, Wood.

Castleford are heavy 2/7 favourites, with Wakefield out at 5/2 and the draw priced at 20/1
