Tansey amongst seven Super League players charged

The RFL’s Match Review Panel has charged seven players with offences committed in Round Five of the First Utility Super League.

Jordan Tansey of Castleford has been charged with the Grade C offence of making deliberate physical contact with a match official in the 31st minute of the fixture against Hull FC on Sunday March 16.

Hull FC player Micky Paea has been charged with the Grade B offence of making dangerous contact with Richard Owen of the Tigers in the 79th minute of the same fixture.

St Helens forward Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook has been charged with the Grade C offence of making dangerous contact with Leon Pryce of Catalan in the 57th minute of the fixture played on Friday March 14.

Dragons player Jeff Lima has also been charged with a Grade C offence, after making dangerous contact with Kyle Amor in the 68th minute of the same match.

Huddersfield’s Michael Lawrence has been charged with the Grade B offence of making dangerous contact with James Donaldson of Bradford in the third minute of the match played on Sunday March 16.

Lawrence’s teammate Scott Grix has been charged with the Grade B offence of kicking Bull’s youngster Adam O’Brien in the 77th minute of the same fixture.

Bradford’s Chev Walker has also been charged with a Grade B offence, after striking Luke Robinson with his shoulder in the 20th minute of his side’s 66-18 defeat.

Walker, Lawrence, Grix, Paea and McCarthy-Scarsbrook had until 11.00am today to submit Early Guilty Pleas. Tansey and Lima will appear before an RFL Disciplinary Tribunal this evening.

The Match Review Panel also issued formal cautions to the following players:

Ben Flower (Wigan) – making dangerous contact on Michael Weyman of Hull KR in the 60th minute;

Jordan Turner (St Helens) – tripping Morgan Escare of Catalan in the first minute;

Adrian Morley (Salford) – tripping in the 70th minute v Warrington;

Dean Collis (Wakefield) – making dangerous contact with Mike McMeeken of London in the 35th minute.
