Hull FC winger Fetuli Talanoa is enjoying being around other Pacific Islanders at the KC Stadium, as preparations for the 2016 season gather pace.

The Tongan international has been joined at the club by Frank Pritchard for the new season, with the total of Polynesian players at the club now rising to six.

The strong cultural bonds felt by the Islanders adds camaraderie and closeness to the Airlie Birds’ ranks, according to Talanoa.

“We have this automatic brotherhood with the Polynesian guys, whether they are Samoan, Tongans, Fijians or whatever island they’re from, we all come together when we are in one place and we look after each other,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“For the new guys like Frank (Pritchard), I guess me and Feka (Paleaaesina) had to make them feel welcome and show them around town.

“It’s important for new signings, particularly from overseas, to settle in quickly and get up to speed.”
