Swinton to make further additions to the club’s new board

Swinton director Steve Wild says the club are aiming to recruit more board members before the start of next season.

The Lions lost six directors in September following the collapse of the club’s proposed rebranding to Manchester Lions.

As a result, Swinton have appointed local business people Stuart Fletcher, Stephen Parker, Lindsey Smethills and Stuart Dickman on the club’s board in order to restore short-term stability of the Lions.

Wild said: “I am really pleased to be able to formally confirm the appointment of these new directors.

“They are all “Swinton” to the core and bring important skills and contacts to the table.

“They certainly don’t lack for enthusiasm – a fact which is already being reflected in our commercial returns.

“However, I must stress that as far as board recruitment is concerned, we haven’t finished here and further additions are anticipated shortly from the local business community.”
