Swinton Lions announce 2022 squad numbers

League 1 club Swinton Lions have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2022 season.

There are 25 players registered in Allan Coleman’s fist team for next year. The club have made nine new signings, whilst retaining 17 from 2021. They also have a player currently on trial.

Wales international Rhodri Lloyd has been named as captain for the new season. Lewis Hatton and Wales international Mike Butt have been appointed vice-captains.

Swinton have a number of Wigan academy products in their side for 2022. Liam Forsyth has been given number three, with Max Roberts wearing four.

Luke Waterworth retains the number nine shirt, with skipper Lloyd wearing 11. Nick Gregson, who played 16 games for Wigan between 2016-17, will wear 13. Prop Paddy Jones and centre Reece Hamlett, who both came through the Wigan system, wear 18 and 21 respectively.

New signing Dan Abram, who arrived from Oldham, takes the number one shirt. Italy international Richard Lepori, who will be hoping to play at next year’s World Cup, has been given five.

Lewis Else joined the Lions from Widnes and wears six, with his half-back partner Jack Hansen wearing seven.

Ireland international Will Hope, also hoping to play in the World Cup, has been given the number eight. Former Leigh back-rower Mitch Cox wears 12.

Former St Helens half-back Lewis Charnock recently linked up with the Lions. He takes the number 25 shirt.
