Swinton have confirmed the signing of half-back Lewis Charnock from Oldham.

The latest addition completes the League 1 club’s 25-man squad for 2022.

Having previously featured for Barrow, the 27-year-old can feature at half-back, but can also cover a number of other positions.

Charnock made his first-team debut with St Helens in 2013 against Salford. He went on to make six appearances for the club, and has also featured for Rochdale, Leigh and Bradford on loan.

He said: “I can’t wait to meet the boys and get started, and to get this club back into the Championship.”

Head coach Allan Coleman on Lewis Charnock

Head coach Allan Coleman added: “Lewis Charnock is the last signing for us for next season.

“He has lots of experience at all levels and will give us plenty of options.

“Lewis can play half-back, nine, or thirteen which is very rare. He has a good attitude and fits in with our ethos. I’m sure he will be a valuable player for us.”
