Super League v Premier League

There has been a lot of talk recently about the new Premier League football TV deal, and how it affects Super League – not just in terms of whether Super League deserves more money, but whether it means rugby league fans will be left out of pocket paying for a Sky subscription to see their favourite sport.

So it seemed an ideal opportunity to compare Super League and the Premier League, and here’s what was found:

– Not surprisingly, Huddersfield Giants have the shortest away travel ahead of them this season

– Hull FC and Hull KR fans will travel approx 2000 miles this year to support their teams while Hull City Fans will have to travel over 6000 supporting their team in the Premier League

– Wayne Rooney makes more in a year than the salary cap for all SL teams

– Super League players are on average 16kg heavier than their footballer counterparts
