A look at Friday’s Super League Round 13 team news, while Catalans currently have a lead over Wakefield in Perpignan…

Gareth Widdop named at full-back

Castleford boss Andy Last has named former England international Gareth Widdop at full-back following the injury blow to Niall Evalds.

Evalds, 29, suffered a pectoral tear against Catalans a fortnight ago and may not feature again in 2023, requiring surgery.

He has been limited to just seven appearance so far this season, having damaged an ACL joint earlier in March.

It means Jack Broadbent has been named in the halves to partner Jacob Miller.

Tui Lolohea has been named at full-back for Huddersfield, with Will Pryce missing out through injury. Jake Connor partners Theo Fages in the halves.

New Huddersfield recruit Adam Milner is ineligible to play against his former club. The 31-year-old has made the move on an initial season-long loan from the Jungle, before making the move permanently for 2023, with an option for another year.

Huddersfield: Lolohea, Senior, Marsters, Naiqama, Bibby, Connor, Fages, Hill, Peats, English, Cudjoe, McQueen, Yates. Bench: O’Brien, Ikahihifo, Rushton, Greenwood.

Castleford: Widdop, Faraimo, Mellor, Turner, Wallis, Broadbent, Miller, Matagi, MmcShane, Massey, Edwards, Lawler, Westerman. Bench: Mustapha, Martin, Hall, Watts.

St Helens welcome back key men

James Roby, Konrad Hurrell, Curtis Sironen and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook all return for St Helens. Paul Wellens’ side take on Leeds in a mouth-watering rematch live on Sky Sports.

Tommy Makinson has been named to make his 300th appearances for the club.

It was a feisty 80 minutes in the reverse fixture in Round Three, with Rohan Smith’s Rhinos claiming a dramatic 25-24 victory in a game that included a red card for Hurrell and yellow cards to back-rowers Sione Mata’utia and Sironen.

Leeds: Myler, Handley, Newman, Macdonald, Olpherts, Gannon, Sezer, Walters, O’Connor, Holroyd, McDonnell, Martin, Smith. Bench: Oledzki, Donaldson, Johnson, Sangare.

St Helens: Welsby, Makinson, Hurrell, Hopoate, Ritson, Lomax, Dodd, Walmsley, Roby, LMS, Sironen, Batchelor, Bell. Bench: Mata’utia, Lussick, Paasi, Wingfield.

Frankie Halton has been named on the bench to make his Leigh debut.

The back-rower joined his hometown club on a two-and-a-half-year deal after Hull KR agreed to release the Ireland international from his contract at Craven Park.

Riley Dean has been named in the halves for Warrington, with Josh Drinkwater forced to watch from the sidelines following his one-match suspension.

The 21-year-old half-back was recalled from his loan spell at Featherstone by head coach Daryl Powell earlier this week.

Leigh: O’Brien, Briscoe, Leutele, Hardaker, Charnley, Reynolds, Lam, Amone, Ipape, Mulhern, Holmes, O’Donnell, Asiata. Bench: Mellor, Seumanufagai, Halton, Davis.
