There were only two games in Super League on the weekend.

A hat-trick from Jack Walker helped Leeds Rhinos secure their first victory of the season as they won 46-14 against previously unbeaten Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Adam Cuthbertson, Konrad Hurrell (2), Matt Parcell and Ash Handley also scored for the Rhinos, with Tui Lolohea kicking seven goals.

Salford’s tries came from Joey Lussick and Josh Jones.

Mitch Garbutt scored twice to help Hull Kingston Rovers come from behind to beat Super League’s newcomers London Broncos 22-12 at the KCOM Craven Park.

Kane Linett and Craig Hall crossed the whitewash for the Robins, while tries from Matt Gee and Jay Pitts initially put the Broncos ahead.

Hull KR have won two out of three games this season after starting 2019 in an impressive manor.

The only other Super League side in action, Wigan Warriors, fell short to a 20-8 defeat against Sydney Roosters in the World Club Challenge at the DW Stadium.

Former Australia international Brett Morris bagged a first half hat-trick for the NRL outfit, while Daniel Tupou scored Sydney’s final try.

Wingers Tom Davies and Liam Marshall went over for the Warriors in front of a crowd of 21,331.

Speaking after the game, Wigan coach Adrian Lam insisted the World Club Challenge concept is great for the sport and that it has got to continue.

Meanwhile, Roosters’ coach Trent Robinson admitted he was blown away by the performance of Wigan captain Sean O’Loughlin.
