Sky viewers will see Salford for the first time in 2015 tonight, as they host St Helens at the AJ Bell Stadium.
In this fixture last year – a much anticipated tie at the time due to the expensive overhaul of the Red Devils’ squad – Saints came away with a ruthless 38-nil win.
The reigning champions will be hoping for more of the same, but the scoreline will be much closer this time around.
Salford failed to convert a number of promising opportunities in their 22-8 defeat at Warrington in Round 1, and with Kevin Locke returning from injury they should be far more clinical.
Kieron Cunningham’s side will still get the win though, and My Club Betting have them priced at 21/50.
Obviously a Saints win alone does not get you much value, but if you add it into a double with Huddersfield to make the first scoring play in their clash with Wigan on Saturday, then this week’s £5 free credit would return you just under £15.
Paul Anderson and his Giants side are smarting from their embarassing loss to Hull FC, and the Warriors are without Matty Smith at half-back, meaning it will likely be the Yorkshire side who begin the match with more gusto.
So while this may not be the biggest of returns, it should be quite a safe punt to get the ball rolling.
