Super League Round 12 attendances: Three games record more than 10k

Three games recorded attendances of more than 10,000 in Round 12 of Super League, with an average of 8,161 across all six fixtures.

A total of 48,968 people attended a game in Round 12 of Super League, seeing an average of just more than 8,000 across all six games.

Wigan recorded the highest attendance of the round, with 12,167 seeing Leeds claim a 40-18 victory following an impressive second half comeback at the DW Stadium.

The Rhinos were 14-0 down after half an hour but scored 34 points in the second half to complete a remarkable turnaround.

Record breaker Roby

The second highest attendance came at champions St Helens. A crowd of 11,881 were inside the Totally Wicked Stadium to celebrate James Roby’s big day as he became the club’s all-time appearance holder.

The Saints came from 12-0 down to claim a 26-12 win over the Red Devils in Roby’s milestone match.

The 37-year-old became Saints’ all-time appearance maker with 532, surpassing Kel Coslett’s record that had stood for more than 45 years.

The third and final game which recorded a 10,000-plus crowd came at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, with 10,179 people seeing Warrington win 21-14 against Hull KR.

In the Thursday night televised clash, 3,976 were inside The Be Well Support Stadium as Wakefield, who are yet to register a win in 2023, fell to a 26-6 defeat against Hull.

And on Friday night, 4,977 fans were inside the John Smith’s Stadium as hosts Huddersfield tasted a 30-4 loss at the hands of Leigh, who currently sit fifth in the Super League table having won seven games from 12.

Castleford went down to a 46-22 defeat to Catalans on Friday evening, with 5,788 in attendance at The Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
