Super League preview: Wakefield v Bradford

test

Bradford travel east to Wakefield on Thursday, where a familiar face will be waiting for them.

Wildcats half-back Jarrod Sammut is in line for his debut after moving from the Bulls last week, and his potential pairing with Pita Godinet looks very promising.

Wakefield may have been beaten by Salford in their opening game, but Godinet was in fine form, setting up two and scoring one of his side’s three tries.

New hooker Paul McShane also went well against the Red Devils, completing a full 80 minute stint, and he is set for his second successive start, although Jimmy Keinhorst misses out through injury.

Bradford have a new signing themselves in Huddersfield prop Anthony Mullally, and alongside youngster Sam Wood he is drafted into head coach Francis Cummins’ squad.

“I am not expecting a classic,” said Cummins.

“But this is a massively important clash for us.

“We are aiming to pick up two points and get off the mark, as are the Wildcats.”
