Super League Pod Predictions – Super 8s Week 5

Lucy Gordon
Host Mark was joined by a new co-host this week, as Leeds fan Dom joined him to make their SLP predictions in association with Love Rugby League. The pair looked ahead to Round 5 of the Super League Super 8s and Qualifiers.
Castleford v Huddersfield – Cas go into this with three wins in a row and chasing a home semi, whereas the top four dream is over for the Giants. That led both hosts to pick the home sid to win this one.
St Helens v Hull FC – with Saints looking to formally seal the League Leaders Shield and Hull FC deep in their end of year slump, both Mark and Dom went for big wins for the Red V in this game.
Wakefield v Catalans – this was the a game the boys found it hard to pick a winner, as both teams have little to play for but are still playing with pride. Mark went for the home side, Dom went for the away team, both think it will be close.
Wigan v Warrington – both sides come into this top four battle in winning form although both will have key absentees. This was another where Mark went with home-advantage and Dom picked an away win.
Leeds v Salford – the Red Devils’ suspensions and depth issues means both hosts tipped Leeds in this one.
Widnes v Halifax – In a game where the loser will see any Super League 2019 hopes disappear, Mark backs the full-time hosts to keep hopes aline whilst Dom tips another away win upset.
Toronto v Toulouse – Dom and Mark both think Toronto will take home the spoils in this match-up with a lot of potential to entertain.
Hull KR v London – Neither Dom or Mark could see the Championship side cause an upset here, both went for Hull KR.
They guys also run through their Championship Sheld and League 1 games of the week and touch on the NRL finals matches. Listen in to Episode 198 to find out how the hosts came to justify this week’s predictions.
