Super League fever will hit Manchester on Saturday January 23 when the Trafford Centre hosts a special interactive fans day as part of the build up to the 2010 season.

The event will be centred around the leisure complex’s refreshment area, The Orient, and will feature appearances from leading Engage Super League personalities, fantastic Rugby League action video footage, live music and dancing as well as a chance to win tickets to October’s Grand Final at Old Trafford.

The Engage Super League Trophy will also be on display from 2.30pm and supporters will have the chance to have their photograph taken with the iconic piece of sporting silverware.

Mascots from the clubs will be on hand to give the event some added fun and will be accompanied by Sid the Savings Pig – the official mascot of Super League‘s title sponsor, Engage Mutual Assurance.

Fans attending the event will also have a chance to get autographs from the players on specially-created Engage Super League souvenir autograph cards and take part in a number of interactive competitions including an on-stage Super League SuperFan contest.

There will be an additional Engage Super League club presence around the shopping centre with clubs having dedicated stands.

RFL Marketing Manager Phil Williams said: “Last year’s fans day proved to be incredibly popular.  We have acted on the feedback from those who attended in 2009 to make this year’s event even more interactive and exciting.

“The event will provide a great opportunity for Rugby League supporters to celebrate the start of Engage Super League XV, meet some of the stars of the competition and listen to what they have to say about the forthcoming season.

“With the live band and dancing as well as highlights on the big screen and interactive games it will be a fun day for all the family and one not to be missed.”

The Engage Super League Fan Day takes place on Saturday January 23 when the on-stage action will kick off at 2.00pm and will continue until 3.45pm. Free parking is available at the Trafford Centre.
