Super League history maker set for Championship bow

Super League’s youngest ever player, Harry Newman, is in line to make his Championship debut for Featherstone this weekend.

Newman, 18, was the first player born in this century to play in the top flight when he turned out for Leeds against Wigan back in July and he made his second appearance in the recent defeat at Widnes.

Still with the Rhinos, he has been included in John Duffy’s squad on dual-registration terms for this Sunday’s trip to Batley.

Leeds team-mate Jack Ormondroyd and Castleford loanee Mitch Clark are also included in Duffy’s 19-man squad, with Misi Taulapapa (suspended), Scott Wheeldon (arm) and Danny Maskill missing out.
