Acting Harlequins head coach Rob Powell has arrived in Lebanon to coach their national team for the autumn internationals.

The Cedars will tour Italy for four days of training and two international games before returning home for a two game series against a select side from the Asian sub-continent in the MENA Championship.

Powell took charge of his first training session on Friday after meeting LRLF Chief Operating Officer Remond Safi.

He said: “It was great to actually get here and have an opportunity to meet everybody I had heard so much about. I was happy to see how much energy the boys show in training and know that when we have spent a bit more time together we will be able to channel that to produce and cohesive, well structured team.”
