Sunday’s Super League round-up

test

With only two Super League fixtures today, Castleford and Bradford more than made up for the lack of action, as 14 tries were scored at the Wish Communications Stadium.

The home side were the victors, with Jamie Ellis‘ last minute score ensuring a 46-34 win.

Kirk Dixon, Adam Milner (2), Justin Carney, Rangi Chase, Jordan Tansey and Nathan Massey were the Tigers’ scorers, and Dixon managed a total of seven conversions.

The Bulls, who scored through Jarrod Sammut (2), Brett Kearney, Nick Scruton, Elliot Kear and Danny Addy, can now no longer make the play-offs – meaning the 2013 top eight is now finalised.

One of the clubs confirmed in that top eight is St Helens, and they continued their recent winning form with a 26-12 victory away at Wakefield.

Saints dominated the first-half, scoring early tries through Anthony Laffranchi and Adam Swift, and there was no way back for the Wildcats.

St Helens‘ other scorers were Sia Soliola, Jonny Lomax and Lance Hohaia, while Reece Lyne and Kyle Amor got the consolation tries for the home side.

Results:

Castleford 46-34 Bradford
