Samoa‘s Sauaso Sue is free to play aginst Fiji after an International Appeals Tribunal lifted the one-match suspension handed down to him for tripping.

Sue, 21, was penalised for the offence in the 58th minute of the Group B fixture against France on Monday.

However, the forward was successful in an appeal after the Tribunal ruled that whilst he did make contact with French player William Barthau’s leg, there was uncertainty as to whether it was deliberate.

The decision means Sue is available for selection against the Fijians in Sunday’s quarter-final at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington.

Teammate Leeson Ah Mau failed in his appeal against the one-match suspension imposed for a Grade A shoulder charge in the same fixture, and therefore he is unavailable.
