Students geared up for televised Grand Final

Leeds Met Carnegie and Loughborough are making their final preparations for tonight’s live televised Student Rugby League Super 8 Grand Final.

The inaugural event is taking place on Wednesday 23 February, at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium, home of Engage Super League outfit the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and kicks off at 7.30pm.

“Both sides have had great seasons and is fitting that they get to battle it out to be the inaugural Grand Final winners,” said James Shuttleworth, RFL National Youth Volunteer Manager.

“The BUCS Super 8 is the elite competition in Student Rugby League and the standard when these two sides meet is comparable to many Co-operative Championship teams.”

“I’d urge any fan of the game to get down to Wakefield on Wednesday night for a great evenings entertainment.”

Leeds Met will go into the clash as many people’s favourites after topping the table with a 100% record, although they will underestimate second-placed Loughborough at their peril.

The BUCS Super 8s Grand Final will be screened live on Premier Sports, Sky channel 433 with free-to-air coverage beginning at 7.15pm.
