Storm hunt for new boss

South London Storm are on the hunt for a new head coach, after their last two bosses were snapped up for roles at professional clubs.

Rob Powell is the latest ex-Storm top dog to break in to the full time game, having taken the head coach role at Super League club Harlequins, while London Skolars coach Jason Massara has also previously been in charge at the Merton based club.

Powell was in charge when the Storm enjoyed RL Conference Premier success in 2006, while the club also won the RLC Premier South Premiers title in 2005 and 2006, before finishing runners-up in 2007 and 2008.

A club statement read: “South London Storm are seeking a coach to maintain and enhance the club’s culture and values, run a good rugby program encompassing two grades, and to coach the 1st Team on match day.

“As a club, the Storm is moving in 2011 to a new 4G pitch facility in Croydon, and the 2 senior teams will compete in the RLC Premier South and the London League.”
