Police have launched an appeal after Stevie Ward’s Super League Grand Final winners ring was stolen in a burglary.

Ward’s home in Headingley, Leeds, was broken into on Tuesday night between 7pm and 10pm and among the items stolen was the unique 2017 winners ring.

The Leeds forward played through the pain barrier to help the Rhinos beat Castleford in October, just eight days after dislocating his shoulder.

He said: “I am devastated to have lost my ring. It is so distinctive you would think it is worthless to most people but is priceless to me. That week was one of the most significant of my life.

“At the start of the week I was questioning whether I would play the game I love ever again and then to play 80 minutes at Old Trafford to win the trophy was incredible, that ring encapsulates all that for me. I hope someone can help return it to me.”

Anyone with any information regarding the Stevie Ward’s stolen property should contact the Police using the non-emergency 101 number.
