Leigh’s 1895 Cup home quarter-final against Barrow will take place at St Helens due to pitch maintenance work at the Leigh Sports Village.

The Cup clash was meant to take place at the Leigh Sports Village after the Centurions drew the Raiders at home in the 1895 Cup quarter-final draw.

But due to pitch maintenance work going on at the LSV, the tie will now be played at St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium on Wednesday, June 26 (7:30pm).

Leigh owner Derek Beaumont commented: “One of the sacrifices of having what I consider the best playing surfaces in rugby league is enabling the maintenance work to be undertaken at the appropriate time.

“Leigh Sports Village do a tremendous job at a large expense to themselves to provide us with an amazing facility and we have always been able to work together to accommodate this.

“This year is the introduction of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup and therefore we have encountered a situation that hasn’t previously been a problem.

“This has presented us with the opportunity to further cement our partnership with St Helens who have kindly agreed to make their fantastic facility available to us for the fixture.”

Leigh and St Helens season ticket holders can gain entry to the game at a discounted price of £15.
