St Helens Council has signed and sent the plans for St Helens‘ new 18,000 all-seater stadium.nnThe council yesterday signed all the necessary documentation, and sent the completed plans to Government office.nnThis follows extensive talks between the council and Bootle’s Health and Safety Executive regarding the 46-acre site, formerly owned by United Glassworks.nnThe whole process received a great boost when it was announced that a risk assessment for the neighbouring Jackson Street gas-holder wasn’t needed.nnThe gas-holder is situated outside the new ground’s consultation zone, so a risk assessment didn’t need to be carried out.nnThe stadium first obtained council approval on May 20, with the ground costing £25m to build.
