Sonny Bill sits out Kiwi warm-up

Sonny Bill Williams will sit out New Zealand‘s World Cup warm-up against the Cook Islands at Doncaster on Sunday.

All players involved in the NRL Grand Final have been rested by coach Stephen Kearney, meaning the Sydney Roosters back-rower will have to wait for his Kiwi return.

His last appearance came back in April 2008, in the 28-12 loss to Australia, his seventh cap.

Former Super League players Thomas Leuluai and Greg Eastwood have been named in the 18-man squad for the game, which kicks off at 3pm.
