Hull FC half-back Marc Sneyd has been hit with a Grade D charge of making dangerous contact, the RFL have confirmed.

Sneyd does not have the option of submitting an Early Guilty Plea (EGP) and will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday evening.

This follows an incident where Sneyd appeared to twist the leg of Leeds Rhinos stand-off Danny McGuire in a tackle during the game between the two sides at Headingley on Sunday.

Brett Ferres of Huddersfield Giants has also been charged with Grade C punching on Widnes Vikings player Rhys Hanbury.

Ferres has until 11am on Tuesday June 23 to submit an EGP.

Both players were charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel which also issued a formal caution to Declan Patton of Warrington Wolves for kicking out in a tackle in the match against Hull KR played last Friday.
