Smith to captain York

Back-rower Ed Smith has been appointed captain of the York City Knights for 2017.

Smith’s brother Pat skippered the club two years ago.

Smith has been with the club his whole career and is the longest-serving player at York.

He debuted for the Knights in 2010 at the age of 17 and takes the armband from Jack Aldous.
