Smith has agreed a deal in principle with the Airlie Birds, according to his agent, but the contract has yet to be registered.
“A deal has been agreed in principle. It’s just about dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s,” Karl Harrison, Smith’s agent, told the Hull Daily Mail.
“Lee (Smith) has sorted his head out, sorted his body out. He has his hunger and desire back for the game and I cannot thank Lee Radford enough for giving him a chance.
“I know for a fact he would repay Hull in abundance. In the derby he played three positions in 30 minutes.
“His versatility is invaluable and it’s a gift not many players have.”
