Slater: I’ve no reason to leave

Billy Slater says his decision to re-sign with Melbourne for a further four years was the obvious choice.

The deal, which will keep Slater, 27, at the club until the end of 2015, was announced on Saturday – just a day before the Storm hammered Parramatta 38-0.

And for Slater, who made his debut for the club in 2003, the deal is exactly what he wanted.

“I’ve always signed my contract a couple of years in advance,” said Slater.

“I’ve been down here for a long time with the Melbourne Storm and it’s a great club to be involved in.

“I feel no reason to move on, I’m definitely going to be here for the majority of my career so hopefully I can stay here for the whole lot.”
