SL special feature in Mirror newspaper
The Daily Mirror newspaper is to publish an eight page Super League special this Thursday (July 9) to give readers an update on what is proving to be one of the most exciting and competitive seasons to date.
To be printed nationwide in association with engage Super League’s official broadcast partner Sky Sports, the supplement is a result of the popularity of The Daily Mirror’s Super League launch special which was published back in February.
The eight page ‘Mania’ special will include an interview with England and Bradford Bulls star Sam Burgess on his Rugby League family, Wigan’s Pat Richards looking forward to an Ashes summer and England captain Jamie Peacock talking about this autumn’s Four Nations.
There will also be a school report style update on how each of engage Super League’s 14 teams are performing in this year’s competition, whilst players from Huddersfield Giants, St Helens, Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors will give their views on next month’s Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals and Wembley final.
Sky Sports’ Mike ‘Stevo’ Stephenson will also give his view on the season so far.
Craig Spence, the RFL’s Communications Manager, said: “It’s great news that The Mirror is to print a second Super League supplement on Thursday. The season launch supplement they published back in February was a huge success and saw their sales increase.
“As a result the paper has increased the amount of coverage it dedicates to Rugby League. I’d encourage all supporters to go out and buy The Mirror on Thursday so that once again the paper can see that more Rugby League coverage means more sales.”

As part of the supplement readers will also have the opportunity to win a superb VIP day out at August’s Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley. The prize will include tickets to the final, a behind the scenes tour of the stadium as well as the opportunity to have your picture taken with the famous trophy pitch side at Wembley before kick-off.
